Flexibility Exams

What Are Flexibility Exams?

Flexibility exams are tests run as an initial assessment to evaluate your pain level and flexibility range. We do the tests over time and reevaluate for improvement. We start with a warm up to relax your muscles and prepare.

Types of Tests for Flexibility Exams

  • Sit and Reach Test
  • Trunk Rotation Tests
  • Groin Flexibility Test
  • Additional Stretching Tests & Measurements

Initial Pain Assessment

Like any good doctor, Dr. Cohen isn’t going to simply ask you what hurts. He’s going to investigate.

On your first visit, we’ll take 2 or more x-rays of your spine. Then, we will talk about the condition of your spine and how it correlates with what you’re feeling. (On each visit, we’ll also palpate along your neck and back, looking for tenderness, knots of tension, points of misalignment, and other chiropractic red flags.)

After your assessment, we recommend a course of treatment, and figure out what makes sense for your time and budget. We accept most insurance policies.

Throughout your treatment, we will identify and attempt to make changes to everyday habits that are challenging your spine. Surprisingly simple lifestyle changes and daily practices—some as easy as stretching your head back a few times a day—can reduce pain and accelerate the healing process. We also have patients bring in a picture of their work station for ergonomic assessments.
